Holly Nook Boarding Cattery is situated in a quiet country area to the north of Colchester on the outskirts of the village of Great Horkesley. The map at the bottom of this page shows our location.

At this small friendly cattery set in a country garden your cat will enjoy a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, with lots of individual care and attention from the owner. The cattery is built and managed to the standards of the Feline Advisory Bureau.

We hope the following information will be helpful.

Accommodation

The cats are housed in their own insulated and individually heated chalet, each with outdoor covered run. Every run is provided with a scratching post, climbing ladder and raised sitting area.

Cats from the same household may share accommodation, and we have facilities for up to four cats to stay together.

To help settle in, if your cat has a favourite blanket, sleeping basket or toys, please bring these along.

Health

Current Vaccination Certificates are Essential

An up-to-date certificate of vaccination against Feline Infectious Enteritis and Feline Influenza (cat flu) must be produced at the start of the boarding period. Cats should normally have been vaccinated at least two weeks before boarding.

Please note that we are unable to accept male cats that have not been neutered.

We have a veterinary surgeon on call in case of emergencies.

Feeding

Individual likes and dislikes are catered for and we feed the cats whatever their normal diet at home is. If your cat is on a special diet we may ask you to supply this.

Grooming is carried out daily as required.

Terms & Conditions

We charge a full day's board for both the day of arrival and the day of departure to allow for essential disinfecting and preparation of the chalet.

We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee, especially at peak periods.

Payment by cheque or cash only. Call for details of current daily rates.

Bookings

If possible, bookings should be made well in advance especially at peak holiday times. It is helpful when making a booking to provide the following information: cat's name, age, sex, breed and usual diet, together with an estimated time of arrival. We regret we cannot accept provisional bookings.

Delivery and Collection

The cattery is open by appointment ONLY within the following times:

9.00am - 6.00pm (Monday - Friday)
9.00am - 1.00pm (Saturday & Sunday)

Closed Bank Holidays & Public Holidays .

Visitors

Owners are most welcome to come and meet us and inspect the premises and facilities before boarding their cats. Please ring to arrange a time.
